Zambia- First Week of August

The first week of August went along very well. The Health/Hygiene team completed 5 trainings over the course of the week which finalized 5 hand pump repairs we completed the last week of July. The Lord also blessed the preaching of His Word, after the hygiene trainings, in which we witnessed 6 professions of faith. "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God", and we continue to see this as we move about repairing hand pumps and preaching the Word. During our visit to the states, at the beginning of this year, we were blessed with funding designated for purchasing bibles. Last week, Leslie and I went to the Zambia Bible Society and purchased 149 bibles in several languages, Chewa, Bemba, Tonga and English. We also purchased 100 New Testament Bibles and since we bought so many bibles we were given a case of The Gospel of Luke in English and The Gospel of John in Chewa language (60), The Gospel of John in the Bemba language (60). So, needless to say our staff evangelist, Ozias, is very happy to have bibles in the different languages. During the 5 hygiene trainings this week Ozias distributed 60 bible/Gospel combination's.

Zambia - July 2010

Leslie and I have not updated the site very well this year and we apologize for that. We have been moving back and forth across Zambia since the end of March. At last, we have stopped for a spell to rest so we want to say HELLO!!!! Our son, C3, at the moment is putting together a summer newsletter for WFTO and should be e mailed to our contacts sometime next week. In the newsletter you will find an update of the work so far this year. Also, in the web site picture gallery you will find 2010 pictures which C3 has recently uploaded. Please view them to see what the field work looks like.

Update from the Field

Leslie and I would like to update the ministry in Zambia, Africa. First, we would like to thank you for your prayers and support. In 2009, we were able to bring water, hygiene training and the Gospel to numerous villages. A total of 80 projects (wells/pump repairs) were undertaken, reaching out to around 30,000 people. Leslie and I are currently stateside visiting with our family and friends. We are visiting many venues which include numerous churches who support our efforts in Zambia. It is a blessing to share the hands on work that the Lord has entrusted to us. We are encouraged by the possibility of other ministries partnering with Water for the Oppressed to extend the Lord's work in Zambia. Please join us in prayer for these potential partnerships.

If you have any questions or would possibly like to meet with us in regards to the ministry, please go to the "contact us" portion of this website for details on how to contact us. Leslie and I are planning to return to Africa around the first of March. Upon our return to Zambia, we look forward to growing the relationships that we currently have as well as new ones. Please continue to visit the web page for updates. God bless.
